Talking to customers

If blogging is talking to your customers, I should never say that I haven’t had time. But a fortnight just went and slipped on by and left me talking to customers at a market on the weekend, on Facebook, and via email, but not by blogging. My apologies. Kinda rude when I put it like that.

I enjoyed my stall and sales at the Sugar & Spice market in Ballarat on Sunday. Mum couldn’t make it to this market, but Anthony, Elsie and Maeve joined me. It was the first one without Mum, and while Anthony’s assistance was most welcome at set-up, pack-up and with entertaining the girls off-site and on, I missed the laughs and Mum’s company at our stall.

I’m sure she didn’t miss the set up, pack up, sand bag securing, holding down the marquee in the wind, the showery weather, the afternoon lull and Maeve’s crying most of the way home.

In the last couple of weeks I’ve had a real run on online mobile orders and sometimes only just scrape in with my promise of posting items within 7 days of receipt of payment. I’ve had lots of late nights to get them finished, and one day this week, while both girls were laying on their bellies on the floor drawing, I snuck away to grab even ten minutes of sleep. I don’t know how long I got, but I woke up when Maeve started brushing my hair with the dustpan brush.

So on that note, it’s back to sewing some orders. And remember, if blogging is talking to your customers, it’s also listening – feel free to drop me a line!

  1. I always look forward to your posts! Always good for a giggle 🙂
I am glad you have been busy (better than not?) We are feeling the christmas craziness here too, many orders (on top of work and kids sport) have left me feeling rather frazzled and possibly malnourished LOL
I have realised we will be at The Square on different days 😦 what a shame! I would have loved to catch up with you and your lovely mum 🙂

    Cheers
    Jacq 🙂
